CAN-ACN is the official national organization for neuroscience in Canada, comprised of approximately 1000 researchers from across the country. I was invited to give a 30 minute talk at a Satellite Symposium at the annual meeting about highlights and lessons learned from my experiences as a growing science communicator on social media. Speaker at the Canadian Women in STEM Conference

I am honoured to have been invited to be one of the women in STEM to give a Ted talk style presentation on my experiences and advice as a woman in science to inform and inspire future women in STEM. This conference is a culmination of hEr VOLUTION's 150 days of Canadian women in STEM campaign in honour of Canada's 150th anniversary, and is designed to bring together women and professionals in STEM for knowledge exchange. This event will create opportunities to open up dialogue and form tools and strategies for women in STEM and for the generation of women who are considering STEM as their future career. The focus will be on diverse women in STEM giving 15-minute Talks and a Panel formed of high-profile speakers and world-class researchers as a key tool to inspire and motivate others to focus on gender and diversity in STEM in Canada. All speakers will share recommendations on how to close the gender gap in STEM as well as how to incorporate diversity in schools and the workplace. Tickets currently on sale at discounted rates for students, but selling out fast!
